This post published by "Talking Objects Lab" is of a conversation between Dr. Njoki Ngumi and Jim Chuchu about the topic of restitution and its future possibilities. In addition to enjoying the conversation itself, I think the discussion surrounding the restitution of cultural artifacts stolen from African communities under colonialism holds relevant areas of overlapping themes with discussions about data sovereignty and the circulation of research data collected in/from/with African communities. I hope that the RDS community will have the opportunity to be in conversation with the IIP / The Nest Collective community in the near future.
